First of all I must give thanks once again to my amazing followers and WP friends for your support long before the de-facto lottery win last week. Without you I would never have been in a position to have been chosen to be Freshly Pressed.
I also want to welcome again all new followers to The Blissful Adventurer and thank you for your curiosity and interest in this work that I call a career. I hope you will stay with our journey here as we are going to exciting places and sharing the inner workings of Sicily, Bandol in France, Cambodia, Thailand, and more of the wondrous state of Colorado in the coming calendar year. In addition to real life experiences I will always be penning some edgy fiction from each of our destinations including the series on Piedmont, Italy which continues tomorrow.

A whole lotta years ago my husband and I loved to play the original Call of Duty on the computer. I somehow contorted one of the canned German exclamations from the game into what I now call “girflanken”… also known as what I call my husbands hobby; known officially as re-enacting. Yea… I’ll admit… I joined a couple times. It’s like playing guns when you were a kid, except you have real guns (contrariwise, just as when we were kids, some refused to take their hits).
This reenactment took place at Ft. Mifflin, one of my very favorite places. It was a good opportunity to get some practice with fast motion photography.

On my way to the 2012 Sweet Adelines International Region 19 Competition my gals and I took the Cape May – Lewes ferry out of Joisey into Delaware. This was one of the only times during that 4 day marathon of singing, fun, more singing and more fun I had a chance to use my camera but it was TOTALLY worth lugging it along for these shots!
On a side note, big congrats to my fabulous Jersey Sound Chorus on placing 3rd in mid-size chorus and 4th overall. What we are REALLY excited about is scoring over 600 points, giving our director the title of Master Director. Way to go, ladies!
A stirring week of fortune has left me creatively bankrupt.
I seek home and the familiar places of solace.
Yet it has been some time since I knew this place on a map.
