The Darkest Hour
This is another alien takes over the world movie but, I will give them credit on this one. This is a good movie, it has action and thriller and it has a good story in it. The actors may not be famous but I really think after this they just may be a bit more. TRACEYS THUMBS UP!!!! I liked it. Not to scary for the kids, no gore or blood. Just clean and good fun.
JACK and JILL
Very FUNNY!!! Some kids humor and some adult! I LOVED IT, I watched this with my 9-year-old and he loved it. This is a definite must see with the family. It really is great and a ADAM SANDLER BEST. It gets a TRACEY THUMBS UP!!!! This one that I think I could even watch again.
THE LORAX
Adorable totally funny, the kids will love it!!! A family comedy animation about a cute little furry being with a big MUSTACHE!!!! They showed a lot of the best parts in the previews but it was still cute. I didn’t see it in 3-D so that may change things. P.S. Never cut down a tree you don’t know, or you might piss off a LORAX!!!!
Laissez les Bontemps Rouler. In other words, let the good times roll. That is the name of this painting by artist Carol A. Simmons. Without hearing a single note, can’t you feel the music imbuing this canvas with life? How about the bluesy notes eminating from this painting of Lady Blue?
I must say I was first drawn to those works of Ms. Simmons that highlighted the bright colorful culture of the Gullah people and others in the lowlands of South Carolina and Georgia. But recently I have had the great pleasure to learn more about her work, its continuing evolution, and yes … how music is influencing her creative journey. Just click on one of the pictures above (or here) to discover for yourself the vibrancy of her work. Enjoy!

Inspiration comes in many forms, and in this case, it was stumbling upon the store Old Japan Inc. in Boston’s South End. Walking through the shop was a dream but the best part was being able to walk out the door with a small cache of origami papers.

They are helping me to view “old” objects around the house in new ways …

… as well as add new elements to my “Paper Worlds.”

Oh, how I wish I made it to the banzais before the baby melted down! Still, there was beauty everywhere, including those I was with and made for some excellent camera fodder.

This is how my little guy played in the fountain… by splashing himself in the face!
The living hallway… you know a place is really special when they go to all this trouble to decorate the corridor that holds the bathrooms.

Thanks WordPress for the feature on Freshly Pressed! In a matter of a couple days my humble little blog has reached thousands. I have something like 130 new followers so I wanted to say hello and welcome! Welcome to my world of being photographically insecure and self deprecating (not to be confused with defecating) while occasionally producing some great things.
Lots of love to Bluelyon at The Neophyte Photographer, Chris over at Static Instants, Gail Schechter, Far Enough Photo, ShawnandSuzanne over at The Lost Art of Hitchhiking, knudsens, George Weaver, bettypatsgirl, SkeDazzles, and a couple others I’m sure I’m forgetting that have stuck around and encouraged me. ❤
I dreamed this morning about a friend that was very dear to me. In my dream he had taken the form of two people and all three of us were wearing ROCKMOUNT shirts.
My friend told me that half of the fun of getting a Rockmount was the cool box in which it arrived. I explained that I got my Rockmount at the original store in Denver and there was no cool shipping box.
This little fact seemed to dampen my friend’s spirit and in just a moment I was awake.
