a hallelujah chorus
rises from the gloriosa field

sit a bit
in the shelter of the shade
and watch the day wander by

curly top
lollipop
bonbon of colors

lift and push
servant and master
well be the well

bottoms up
five dive
down

a psychedelic trip
to the center of the coneflower
where everything is groovy

responding to the breeze
and breath of bees and butterflies
an endless dance

each step
through sun or shadow
requires balance

set free
by the fence
uninhibited and unafraid
delphinium bloom with abandon

every petal
a spectacle
and petition of beauty

found on the ground and simply held up to sunlight

lilies rose
the water bloomed
hope floats

amaryllis, amaryllis
scarlet maiden
stakes her claim
