My kitchen floor

This is what I decided on my kitchen floor, now as you know, we bought a house. The closing is coming up now and we need to do floors b 4 we move in. The kitchen is actually the one place I do not need a floor, lol, but we are going to try to reduce the hardwood already in the dining room and lay some in the living room. The kitchen is the major huge remodel so it’s were my brain mostly is. 

Just some quick before pics so u remember the space. The dining room is hardwood under all that old carpet glue and stuff. The kitchen has this down now which will due till we are ready to remodel the whole place but I want to make sure the floor going from the brown wood dining room to the grey wood kitchen will look ok.

Then being the awesome man he is, he brought me home a bunch of tile samples and with that added to stuff I have I decided to do my own mosaic backsplash. 

I have some plain blue broken glass from a casserole dish plus whites, Grey’s and blue tiles and I’m going to just keep collecting!!! I’m so excited. I’m thinking the top cabinets will be white distressed and the bottom a distressed blue. The counter itself we haven’t decided on yet. We are taking wood pieces, like paint sticks, and putting them on the doors for a better look, taking out that ugly paneling on top and putting up a bigger molding to that and some for under the cabinets get the high end look. I may make that a shelf if possible and put some of my blue glass there. 

So much to do, we have, a dining room chandelier we are going to make our own version of, we are leaving the wood in the dining room and painting on the top , the living room will be the sage green like David likes and then I want the dining room to the it all together but I just haven’t decided on the color yet. 

So, downstairs of my house with all the beautiful wood will be colbolt blue, sage green, grey and white. I think…..

Quicken loans not so good

You see the commercial for them, they imply they can get you to the buying process of a home quick. I guess to that part it’s ok but, after they say you qualify and make a bid, the owners except the bid, then it’s so much b.s. that you have to deal with!! Buying a house, a home is stressful. Waiting is stressful. You need to have inspections, well yes, of course you want to do that. You have a list of things, papers to fill out and copy and information they need that comes up on your account. Once that’s all done it’s like they stop paying attention. They do not talk to each other and they don’t read every note in your file until after they have sent you email contradicting each other. 

Inspector, comes, says you need to paint. It’s 12 degrees out. We can put the money in escrow to do it later. That goes through three different people that David has to keep explaining it to. They are not in maine obviously. They finally get past that. They say it all looks good, once we know we have all the paperwork done then we can close in ten days or so after that. Great! Nope. 

Then they decide they want a handrail on the basement stairs, ok. Then they say , now we need another inspection for the handrail. The realtor took pictures and sent them but nope, not good enough. So goodbye ten days. Now we have to wait for someone to go to the house, look at the rail, shake it a few times and say, ok. Then they need to do the paperwork and send that in. Are you kidding me???

I understand we are taking out a mortgage and the bank wants to make sure it’s worth the investment, ok, I understand if they wanted a couple things done, ok, but, get your carp straight! It’s like a ping ball game going back and forth and back and forth!!! Like this isn’t a huge enough deal but to add a completely unorganized company running the show constantly jerking you back and forth!!!!, it’s not my recommendation to use Quicken Loans!!!

It all comes back….

The way we raise our kids always comes back to us. 

I started off wrong with my boys but saw that and corrected it early enough for them to be mentally and emotionally stable when it was time, example. My son jacob is currently working as a CNA and is not stopping there, he wants to be a dr. A mother like me could not be more  proud. He grew up in rentals his whole life and was broke always but that didn’t stop him and I hope it never stops any other kid!

Now if you completely smother them, manipulate them into believing what you want them to about people especially,  it will come back. Point blank….

A mother tells her new husbands mother, u will never see him or any children we have….

Tell the kids awful lies and make up stories to try to make them always see things your way and never ever in dads way, try to keep them always under your thumb….

What do you really think will happen when they grow up??? Either, one, dad smarten ups and leaves and as time goes they meet all these people they were never allowed to meet and one day actually think, hhhmmmmmm.

Or , they grow up and marry a controlling , abusive woman just like mom and you never see them or your grandchildren again…..

Either way, you are digging a bigger hole. 

And somewere inside , she knows. Her parents have told her, people have left, she drinks herself a box of wine every night…. she knows…

Blue, grey or white or black or ……..

Ok, so, the closing on the house may come sooner than we thought. We have been thinking that it would be March 24 but now if we can have the next and hopefully last set of paperwork in this week then it will only be ten days from that day!!! Oh I am not fully packed yet but we still have so much to do!!!

Before we can even move into the house we need to get flooring for the living room and either refurbish the hardwood floor in the dining room, pay someone else to do it or simply cover it up. Then there’s this old flooring stuff in the two usable bedrooms that is really really old and gross and very brightly coloured with flowers and oh my!. There are a couple Windows that need to b fixed in what will be Brandeis room. The house is 2100square feet but on the second floor with the roof being how it is we only have 1400 square ft of useable space. The ceilings are so low all through the house and of course I have 6 feet tall boys!!. 

Trying to figure out all the colors and designs we need now that we know when we do the big job we can type in is a severe pain in the butt!! When we can afford the remodeling we are raising the roof, making the dormar from Brandeis room run the whole side of the house. Tear out the stairs and the bathroom and closet and all the walls around those in the middle of the house so the bathroom can be moved, the stairs rebuilt with an open design and the upstairs needs a hallway to make easier access to all four bedrooms. Now we can’t do one without the other so it’s all going to need to be done about the same time. Ugh. I do not want to wait!!!! I wish we could just go in and do it all at once and move in to a finished house but, that’s not reality. We are tearing the back doors she’d down and putting in glass sliding doors, after we move the bathroom, to build a nice big deck. I am looking forward to doing it all but at the same time I wish I could have my dream house done in time for our wedding. 

Oh and then there’s all the wedding stuff!!!

I love it!!!

It may not be diamonds or big and flashy but that just not me. It’s still a little unique and has to be one of a kind, just like me.

Last night my son came inside from being out messing around and there was a knock on the door. We figured it was one of his friends so he got up to answer it. He closes it and comes back in and says” it’s David”, I was like,”what? Why is he knocking?” Branden says “idk” so I get up and go open the door. There’s my wonderful man, one one knee in front of the door with a ring , he asked me to marry him!!!!! Of course, I said “YES”!!!!!!

He said, it needed to be “official”. He said, I needed to “have a ring”. He said, “now everyone knows how much I love you” 

I said, “I most definitely Love You too.”

Never did I think 

Never did I imagine

It’s always just been dreams, fairytale 

Someone else’s happily ever after

Now it seems my prince has come.
