Upcycled grill

Cleaning up around our yard I ran across the old grill, lightbulb!!! I have seen photos of people doing this and thought it always looked cute so off to the Depot I went.

The selection of perennial plants was limited so I’m not very happy with the look but maybe once they grow out it will look better.

Decided to add some lights and what a pain that was!! The watering can I used had a difficult spout so getting the lights through was not easy! First I had to make 10 holes bigger, then I had to find a long sturdy wire to thread in and wrap the lights around good enough to pull back through, took me awhile to think of cutting the first light on each end off to stop it from getting stuck at the hole and slipping off, but I finally got it. Phew! Done !

Painting counter?

As we are building a new bathroom we needed a bigger vanity. I hate paying top dollar for new things. I can’t help it, I’m cheap, we found one online for a good price but it had a tan marbled top. That wasn’t going to work so I looked up how to change that.

I decided to paint it. I did a lot of reading and research, then I jumped in!

I had to rough it up just enough to take the shine off so the paint could stick.
Then you need to clean it up really good!
Shake the can like crazy and do short quick bursts.
I did about 4 coats, waiting between 15 to 30 min in between like the can said.
This is the finished results, after it sits for 24 hours and with more light, I will show another picture but it looks great!

Angelique tulips!!

I have not had much experience with gardening till I bought this land and started giving it a try. Things I have learned,

Don’t take clumps of flowers from anyone unless they are good with weeding. My mother in law has given me lots of plants and while I appreciate it I also have learned with flowers come weeds!! I have two different kinds that came from her garden that have totally taken over!!!

Don’t make multiple gardens unless you are prepared to take care of them all!!!

Use lots of mulch!

Starting from seeds is hard, bulbs on the other hand are pretty simple

Diaper rose

Started with the diapers, putting a corner up and a piece of tulle in front, keep putting diapers around till you can’t hold anymore, then put an elastic.
Once you have a nice looking center with the corners up and tulle showing for color, put on a bigger elastic or type with string.
Pull out the tulle to a long piece, it sticks to the diapers, with another on top, then place your center on , holding the piece of tulle and roll, then the tight.
Do as many lines as diapers as you need.
I placed it inside the nursing pillow and folded down the outside edge.

Just mine, Gone!

I use Cricut design space for my Cricut explore air 2. For those who don’t know , it’s a cutting machine, paper, vinyl, card stock, I even cut a heavy plastic, although it took a few times to do. Awhile ago I noticed all my projects disappeared. They have my uploaded stuff, the completed projects on my profile page, all of it except my projects I designed to make. Instead were theses Christmas trees, over 4,000 tree projects!

Any device I use, everything saved into the cloud or on any devices, gone. I have a project for my mother I wanted to make to give her at my dads service the end of the month. I have spent hours doing different fonts so it will look right on the box , be read easy enough, etc, etc,

This is an image of what I’m trying to do.

Anyway, they said that somehow, just me and my profile got a bug. A bug, that only effected me, ??.? I can’t figure out how or why . I don’t dare to use it. I’m waiting for them to figure out what and how this happened.

They say if it’s in the Cloud it’s safe??
