Puppy love!

My son is 15 and has his first real girlfriend, I am terrified!! He is extremely sensitive and when something happens it will be like a wall hitting him. I could hope they r a rarity and stay together forever but, one in a million there! It is the one month anniversary and he wanted to get her something, he got all these and brought them home and asked me to put the flowers into a bouquet for him , I had a vase I could use so I came up with this. I am bringing it to his school for him at lunch time but the school said it has to stay in the office till she leaves school. He will have to bring her to see it at the office. It’s cute and sweet and I’m proud of him!! 🤗🤗

Bouquet preservation

I made my wedding bouquet as some of you know, using latex Cali Lilly, leaf vines and other things, in a teardrop swag style.

So then the question was how do I keep it dust free , ready Incase I decide to use it again or simply because I want to keep it.

In all the websites it talks about fresh flowers or says just hang in sight to be dusted regularly. Dust??? Nope. Now I looked for a bag big enough and clear that I could use but didn’t find one. I needed to move it for Xmas so I got a little creative. I could and should have waited for help instead of trying to do it all one handed but I took out my kitchen Saran Wrap and started wrapping , trying not to get it to tight to squish anything. My son said it looks like a mummy.

Ignore the mess in the background, my duster on the floor, I tend to do three or four things at once.

We did it


David and I got married!!!

I am now officially Mrs David Bernier!!!

I am so used to being the photographer everywhere that it is weird for me to not have any photos yet but my son and step dad went crazy with there cameras and I will have some to share.

Have a whole lot of tips and tricks to getting married with it just as you want for 1,000!!

Takes more work on ur end but completely doable!

Going to need another day to recoup then I will be back

Wedding!!!

I’m not tearing out my hair. I’m not running on an empty bank account. I’m not going big and fancy.

I am making all my decorations myself. I am getting my dress for under 100.! Hopefully with no needed alterations. I am buying a 10 x 30 tent and we have a very large white tarp we are adding to it. I am using my back yard , we are making tables and putting white sheets over them. I have royal blue as my color and the October colors will lend a hand, I hope.

I still need to figure out, photos, video, flowers, chairs and my hubby needs his suit. I still need to decide on, a reception – appetizers, deserts, Snax kinda thing? Ask guests to bring things? Would that be weird? Then we need plates, drink ware and a cake. I want a cake but how to do that and not have to do all of the other stuff?

Kitchen floor

Finally after tearing up two layers of linoleum and sub flooring, then sanding, sanding and sanding, and sanding off two stains that I didn’t like, here it is!!! This is my new kitchen floor!!!! I love it!!!! It’s a grey wash. Not a white wash but grey wash!!! Paint was mixed half paint and half water, water based paint, and my David painted it on, then we wiped it off. As much as I wanted the mix of grey paint and the wood grain to show was not easy but after  a few tries we got it just the way I wanted!! Some poly and this is the finish product!!

Now u can’t see it in the pic but there r two diff kinds of wood were an extension was added on years after the original floor was put down. That was a nightmare!!!!!!!! I wanted the old aged look floor. I did the vinegar and steel wool method and the original flooring was so beautiful, but that other stuff just looked dirty. I put the black tea on the one side with the difficult wood and tried the vin again. Nope. Ugh, Then we got the mineral classic grey stain and did that, nope!!!! The wood sucked it up like a sponge but then it disappeared. It was a spotted mess of brown shades and grey and looked awful!!!!! The old side was great but that other wood just didn’t work. AGAIN!!!!

There wasn’t much left to do to get the look I wanted. The floor changed right in front of the stove so I had to get both sides to match!!!

Then my hubby came through again for me with the grey wash! 

So, three floors, three totally different methods. Living room, we layed the boards, did the vin and wool and after a second coat it was perfect for poly. The dining room, we redid the original floor, stained it, did make the mistake of not popping it and had to do it all again but then we got it perfect and ready for poly. The kitchen, well, it’s done!!!!!

If you look back in my post you can see what this floor looked like before we sanded. I love the original wood!!!!!

The one above is the dining room and then we found under two layers of linoleum and base flooring wood a beautiful kitchen floor!!!
